This is the most beautiful Pipe I’ve ever seen and also the only one that is absolutely perfect. This was hand made by Roberto Ascorti in 1987 and presented to my friend Gary Who at the time owned many pipes shops in numerous States. Caminetto was formed some time after Ascorti and Radice left Castello and eventually Roberto became the sole owner of this prestigious brand. This is beyond rare, it is literally the only one ever made. Gary had this pipe on display in His “Churchill’s Pipe Shop in Topeka, Kansas for years, and nobody was allowed to touch it. It was kept inside a locked glass cabinet, and eventually Gary let Me have it to sell for Him. It came in a case with the briar Plaques as shown in the 2nd picture mounted both outside the case and another on the inside of the case. The original case for this has some wear, but it’s job was to preserve the pipe and it did. This pipe was 26 years old when I got it in 2013, and at that time I was sending out offers for 3 pipes in a newsletter to collectors 3 times a week. When I got home with this pipe, I spent 3 hours putting together the newsletter and sent it to the collectors on my list, and in less than 2 minutes My friend Jesse Belcher said He HAD to have it and He was so excited that He also bought numerous other Caminetto’s I had. This is complete and just as made in 1987, and the only thing different is that Jesse bought a very nice display case for it with a mirrored bottom, and every night after work Jesse would fill a Caminetto and smoke it while looking at the prize of His entire collection and this case will come with this pipe. Those other Caminetto’s will be listed soon, as Jesse passed away last November, and His Widow Marilyn contacted Me to sell His collection for Her. I wasn’t accepting new providers, but Jesse over the years became My Caminetto expert that I reached out to for advice regarding the collectibility and value of Caminetto’s, and I feel an obligation to make sure Marilyn doesn’t get taken advantage of by unscrupulous sellers. This Caminetto is the first of many and by far the only one that is virtually “PRICELESS” so I can’t just give it away for a low price, and that’s the hard part because how do you assign a value to something that’s the only one ever made and also the only flawless perfect pipe I’ve ever seen even though I’ve sold over 10,000 pipes now. This pipe is generally considered to be a Canadian because of it’s extreme length and relatively short stem, but technically it’s a Lovat because it has a round shank and a saddle bit and it also has a bowl that has 8 sides which kinda makes it a panel, and like many panels, it has 4 larger flat panels and angled smaller panels on each of the 4 flat sides making it an octagon. The Nomenclature on the left side of the shank says;—————————————————– Caminetto (in script) 1-07—————————————————–On the bottom of the shank it says;—————————————————– LIMITED EDITION MOUSTACHE—————————————————–On the right side of the shank it says;—————————————————– HAND MADE CUCCIAGO-ITALY—————————————————–The stem has the “Fat Moustache” in white on top—————————————————– The pictures show all. This pipe is; 8.15” long 2.2” tall bowl 1.574” wide .89” bore width at the rim, but the walls are tapered so at a depth of 3/4″ the bore width is .8″ 1.97” bore depth 53.3 grams or 1.88 ounces I put up 12 pics that shows more than the eye can detect.
