Эти стороны абсолютно уникальны и отличаются не только механиками игры, но и условиями победы. Дракула по ходу игры передвигается тайно, пытается ускользнуть от охотников, а попутно создаёт новых вампиров по всей Европе, приближая свою победу. Охотники же пытаются подготовиться, выследить Дракулу, а затем победить его, чтобы навсегда положить конец его роду. В игре реализована интересная механика, связанная со временем. Ходы представляют собой дни, поделённые на времена суток: день и ночь, рассвет и закат. С течением времени в игре увеличивается влияние Дракулы. Механика очень сильно оживляет игровой процесс и придаёт ему ещё больше атмосферности. Также новое издание может похвастаться свежими иллюстрациями, редизайном, улучшенными правилами и механиками, новыми компонентами комплектации. Всё действие игры проходит на огромной карте Европы. Игроки должны поделить между собой роли. Один игрок становится Дракулой, а другие берут под своё управление охотников. Можно играть и в дуэльном режиме, тогда один из игроков управляет сразу всеми охотниками. Игра состоит из раундов и длится до тех пор, пока не победит одна из сторон. Раунды делятся на фазы и сначала идёт Фаза охотников, которая делится на День и Ночь. Каждый охотник выполняет по одному действию днём и одному действию ночью. Выбор достаточно интересный: Передвижение – выполняется только днём, фигурка передвигается по полю. Охотники могут передвигаться по дорогам между соседними городами и по железным дорогам, потратив билет. Второй вариант позволяет преодолевать большие расстояния. А ещё охотники могут пользоваться портами Снаряжение – позволяет получить полезные предметы для битвы с Дракулой, но для этого нужно находиться в городах. Также за этим действием следует прокрутка колоды Событий, что может привести к интересным последствиям! Отдых – просто позволяет вылечить одну рану Обмен – позволяет тайно обмениваться вещами, если охотники находятся в одном городе Особое действие – различные действия с карт событий или планшета охотника Покупка билета – позволяет получить билет на поезд, а всего можно держать на руках два билета Обыск – позволяет искать следы Дракулы в местах, которые тот посетил Так как охотники играют сообща, они могут и будут общаться между собой, планировать ходы, читать текст карт и прочее. Все эти действия совершаются в открытую, а игрок-Дракула слушает и запоминает… Затем наступает фаза Дракулы, в которую он может тайно передвигаться, вербовать новых союзников, создавать вампиров и воздействовать на силы природы. Передвигаясь по карте, Дракула оставляет карты столкновений на игровом поле, которые позволяют оставлять ловушки и создавать вампиров. Передвигаться по морю для Дракулы достаточно опасно – мало того, что он получает раны, так ещё и риск обнаружения гораздо выше. Кто победил? Все охотники играют в команде и поэтому одерживают победу или терпят поражения все вместе. Дракула же играет сам за себя и тайно передвигается по всей Европе, пока на него идёт охота.
